Syracuse ranks as one of the safest communities in America.
Law enforcement agencies include the New York State Police, Onondaga
County Sheriffs, City of Syracuse and local Town Police Departments.
They are all out patrolling, ensuring the safety of Syracuse's
streets.
The City of Syracuse also has a paid Fire Department and the surrounding
communities have long established fire and rescue departments of
their own. Many of them are volunteer fire departments — a
further testimony to Syracuse's strong sense of community.
