Greater Syracuse is served by many print and broadcast outlets,
and its proximity to New York City is a definite asset when it
comes to reaching national and international audiences.
The Post-Standard is the largest news gathering organization in
Central New York. Operating from a state of the art plant in the
heart of downtown Syracuse, with bureaus in the surrounding communities,
The morning Post-Standard provides more than 400,000 readers with
news, information and entertainment.
There are a dozen weekly newspapers, including the Liverpool-Salina
Review, serving the northern suburbs, the Camillus Advocate, serving
the west, and the Eagle-Bulletin, serving the east. The Syracuse
New Times is a weekly provider of news, arts and entertainment
in and around Syracuse. Two business publications, the Business
Record and Business Journal serve the community business leader
as a valuable source for Central New York business news, reports
and analysis. Several shoppers' guides are also distributed to
homes each week, including the Scotchman and Scotsman Pennysavers.

There are four general programming television stations affiliated
with national networks: WTVH-TV (CBS), WSTM-TV (NBC), WIXT-TV (ABC)
and WSYT-TV 68 (Fox), and one local public broadcasting station:
WCNY-TV 24. Time Warner provides cable coverage for the area.
