Institute for Human Performance
The Institute for Human Performance showcases the world’s most advanced biomedical technology. It houses an array of interactive enterprises dedicated to biomedical and clinical research, rehabilitation and education with an overall common denominator of dissolving the limitations of disease, disability and aging. The Institute is equipped with a multi-purpose aquatic center, a self-contained hydrotherapy system and an indoor track. This world-class research center has won $5.4 million in grants to fuel research in bone density, spinal cord injuries, and wrist injuries, and to improve emergency response capabilities. Central New York Biotechnology Research Center
Presently under construction, the CNY Biotechnology Research Center is a joint venture between Upstate Medical University and the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. The CNY Biotechnology Research Center will be a 60,000 square foot facility that will house biotechnology, educational and research programs. The facility will accommodate industrial activity in medical biotechnologies, including human therapeutics and biodevices, as well as industrial, agricultural and environmental biotechnologies, such as bioprocessing/bioproducts, bioremediation and biofuels.
